The university was founded 2004 by the Foundation for the Development of Education.
The Owner of this private University is a Turkish native who also owns schools and other universities in USA and Bosnia.
Turkey’s adjacency to the European Union and its economic and political importance in the region have also contributed a lot to increase the significance of Turkish language.
The Education department provides facilities to both international students and students of Turkish origin. Non-native speakers of Turkish have to go through an intensive program in their first year.
Prospective Students habe to undertake compulsory and elective courses in the program. Turkish Language, Turkish Dialects, Turkish Literature (popular, modern, old), World Literature, Popular Science, History of Turkish Culture in the Balkans, Ottoman Language, Teaching Turkish to Speakers of Other Languages, Reading and Writing, English language, and Pedagogy are among the compulsory whereas Bosnian Language, Turkish Traditional Art, Fast Reading and Understanding Techniques, and History of Turkish Culture are among the elective courses.
