Binghamton University In New York provides instruction in languages and literatures especially Greek, Latin, and Arabic. Majors receive a thorough preparation in language and culture, from which they can advance to further study and application of ancient, Near Eastern, and medieval history; history of philosophy and art; comparative literature; and philology.
Basic courses in language and translation are also offered for the benefit of students in all areas, departments and programs. The small size and flexibility of the department, as well as the wide-ranging expertise of its professors, allow it to adapt to the needs of those wishing to pursue a great many academic interests.
