The Turkey Europe center is being established as an interdisciplinary institute at the University of Hamburg, which is at the Asia-Africa Institute of the Arts Faculty. The aim of the Centre is to close in Germany the present gap in the area of interdisciplinary Turkey competence institutionally around Hamburg. Furthermore together, strengthened by cooperation and expanding his network throughout Germany and Europe and with Turkish partners to start innovative research and carried out dialogue projects.

The department is in the three characterized areas of language and regional Iranian Studies, Islamic and Arab world divided and Turkish Studies.

In the 4-year Study Programme with a semester abroad for example in Turkey in addition to excellent language training, broad regional expertise and a basic scientific education, intercultural competence and professional qualification skills are taught.
