Founded 1989 as a seceded division of the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Foreign Languages and Literature was the first such college in Taiwan nation's public universities. The College consists of the Departments of English (Master’s and Ph.D. programs), Arabic Language and Literature, Russian (Master’s Program only), Japanese (Master's Program only), Korean Language and Culture, Turkish Language and Culture

The Turkish Department wants to be in tune with present international situations, the Department aims is to strengthen our language teachings through teaching, research and expansion of our facilities, and promote Area Studies and the Study of Turcology to cultivate expertise in various fields like language, diplomacy, economy, trade and commerce, and to provide the results of academic research, with a view to enhancing the ROC’s relationships with Turkish-speaking countries in Central and Western Asia.
